The Clear Leader Program 

This is our flagship program and is for high performing managers wanting to transform their leadership impact.

Stretch yourself.

Established management practices work very well within the status quo. They provide certainty, consistency, and efficiency.

But when it comes to tackling complex challenges, responding to change, or really stretching our leadership impact, the status quo will not work.

To lead well in complexity, a different set of tools is needed.

Decades of scientific research, and the experience of hundreds of companies, demonstrate that for any organisation to make progress on its biggest, most strategic challenges, the inner state of its leaders is critical.

In pivotal moments of conflict or crisis, how the leader “shows up” is always the difference between success and failure.

This program works with leaders to grow their capacity to engage with clarity and purpose in tackling their biggest strategic challenges. Leaders walk away from this program with greater self-awareness, and the capacity to engage strategically and with courage in tackling their biggest challenges.

In this program, we work with leaders to shine a light on how we are navigating our biggest challenges, and explore ways of working that serve us well, and blind spots and habits we seek to shift, in order to have greater leadership impact.

You will walk away from this program with:

Clarity

A clear sense of who you are as a leader, what you stand for, where your inner strengths and vulnerabilities lie, and how these can be brought to bear in addressing your biggest and toughest leadership challenges.

Purpose

Progress in tackling some of your most pressing leadership priorities in a way that is authentic but also effective in bringing together disparate and competing interests.

Agility

Skills in working in ambiguity and conflict, including the capacity to create productive “holding environments” in which you and key stakeholders can make progress on your most important priorities.

Humanity

Authentic, honest, and rich connection with a cohort of ambitious leadership peers who seek to make a difference in the world.

Format

This program combines pre-program work, plenary sessions, group coaching, and individual coaching sessions.

We offer 3-month, 6-month and 10-month versions of this program.

Coaching Sessions

The coaching sessions address participants’ specific leadership challenges, drawing on the workshop content to support participants’ in their leadership practice.

These sessions are participant-driven and provide a confidential forum for leaders to air and address some of their biggest challenges, as well as reflect on how they have applied learnings from the workshop in their leadership practice.

Support Resources

Workshop participants receive:

  • A workbook to support in-session learning and ongoing practice.

  • Access to online guided mindfulness practices to support ongoing practice.

  • Follow-up web-based support on an as-needs basis.

+ Impact Survey

Subject to your preferences, we deliver a brief (approx. 5 minute) ‘impact survey’ (measuring performance and wellbeing), to be completed by course participants prior to, immediately following, and 2 months after the training.

The Clear Leader Program helps leaders grow their self-awareness, clarity of purpose, and skills in making progress on complex problems with agility and authenticity.

The work

We co-designed and delivered this program for a group of 20 lawyers in senior and emerging leadership roles, to build greater self-regulation, awareness and capacity to lead in complexity.

The result

As a result of this program, participants reported being better able to:

  • regulate their responses to stressful or conflictual situations

  • work with greater confidence in ambiguity and conflicted situations

  • navigate complex leadership challenges with greater clarity and purpose.

The work

Since 2018, we have co-designed and delivered this program for 12 cohorts of senior leaders and managers (each cohort has 15-20 participants) across the organisation. This program takes leaders on a deep dive to develop inner clarity on values and purpose, and the capacity to have leadership impact in complex, contested environments.

The result

Via post-program interviews, program alumni report:

  • being less reactive and more intentional in crux moments

  • being more comfortable in discomfort and ambiguity

  • leading with greater values-clarity and purpose

  • capacity to stay strategic in the face of conflict.

I found the program to be a refreshingly evidence-based, practical approach to mindfulness for busy professionals.

This is a skills-building process that requires concentrated effort; in my case the pay-off came in the form of an improved ability to match the increasingly rapid tempo of my workday, to confidently deal with difficult situations, and to maintain clarity when facing difficult decisions, with the added benefit of more free time (and energy) to spend with my family.

An entirely worthwhile investment in my opinion.

The Family Court of Australia

The work

We co-developed and delivered this program for 30 leaders in the Parramatta and CBD offices of The Family Court of Australia. This program was tailored to meet the specific challenges of senior court officers, to help these leaders navigate their most complex challenges.

The result

As a result of this program, alumni report being:

  • able to stay focused on what matters and be less ‘hijacked’ by reactive ways of working

  • more comfortable navigating complex and contested leadership situations

  • better equipped to lead their teams with authenticity, care, and humanity.
