Just amazing! I now catch my mind wandering off and have learned to refocus it and stop worrying. James was very engaging.

Extremely useful in and out of the workplace. I’ve spoken a lot about this session since.
— Senior Manager, Qantas

I found the program to be a refreshingly evidence-based, practical treatment of the topic of mindfulness for busy professionals.

As a research-focussed academic moving into a leadership role, the one-on-one coaching sessions with James were particularly useful in helping me to identify and address specific hurdles I faced where mindfulness techniques could be successfully applied.

This is a skills-building process that requires concentrated effort; in my case the pay-off came in the form of an improved ability to match the increasingly rapid tempo of my workday, to confidently deal with difficult situations, and to maintain clarity when facing difficult decisions, with the added benefit of more free time (and energy) to spend with my family.

An entirely worthwhile investment in my opinion.

The sessions were really great. It was good to get the group together and have some honest conversations about what our priorities are, and what issues we need to focus on to grow our leadership impact.

James was great structuring and facilitating the conversation, and getting us to the key challenges we face and issues we need to focus on to move forward.
— Project Leader, Sydney Metro

This was a superb program that really challenged us to think differently about what leadership is and how to be effective.

I really enjoyed the time to reflect on my own leadership challenges, and also to share with colleagues.

The focus on adaptive leadership was great, and helped me to better see my blind spots, and what I need to focus on to make progress on my biggest challenges and grow my impact.
— Senior Manager, Deloitte

Thank you SO much again for yesterday, over the rest of the day, we kept hearing so much positive feedback on your session.

It was so valuable.
— Senior Finance and Operations Manager, PWC’s Indigenous Consulting

This program really strengthened my capacity to view tough moments in a broader perspective – thank you James!
— Manager, Commonwealth Treasury
Thank you again for running the course, it has made an immeasurable difference to my life…. When I interview a refugee, it is hard not to take on their desperation and pain … the mindfulness techniques have helped me in so many ways …. I really don’t think I could do this work without what I learnt with you!
— Social Worker, UNHCR

The program provided a fantastic opportunity to reflect on how I approach my leadership roles and what I could do differently. James and Claire struck a great balance between providing us with new tools and letting ideas emerge from the sharing of own experiences. The one-on-one coaching sessions were useful for helping me reflect on my goals and opportunities to improve my leadership skills, while the group sessions exposed me to new mindfulness techniques and tools for applying empathy, managing conflict, and empowering those who I work within a leadership capacity.
— Dr Alex Baumber, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Transdisciplinary Innovation, UTS

Thank you very much for a very insightful and practical course. There should be more of it in the workplace!
— Staff member, IBM
Fantastic session. There should be more of this across the business.
— Senior Manager, Qantas

The mindfulness workshop conducted by James and Claire greatly assisted me in two key areas:

1. Understanding that as you progress within your career and take on more responsibility, that this responsibility also extends to managing yourself. As work intensifies, so too does the need to engage in strategies for managing reform and change within your organisation. This program commences with this as the first session – it identifies the need to manage yourself before managing others.

2. The second important point is that of keeping matters that arise and being managed in perspective. The ability to manage up as well as down emerges as part of one’s self-development and focusing on the processes of how issues are managed, in addition to the outcome, as being the primary determinant of success.
— A/Prof Vince Mangioni, Property Economics and Development, School of Built Environment UTS

Your sessions gave my team some practical tools to manage stress and emotions that they could apply immediately in their every-day work.
— Manager, Family Court of Australia
These sessions gave me a practical range of evidence-based things to try. Thank you!
— Lawyer, ABC

The program has assisted me in managing myself and planning because I am more relaxed and approach complex matters with a better understanding of how to manage myself and others I’m working with.
